We are excited to offer the Virtual BERNINA Club and All about ME!  We will explore new patterns, new techniques, new embroidery designs and of course, using BERNINA machines and accessories to maximize our achievements in creating the sewing and embroidery projects of our dreams - and there is nothing that compares to the quality, percision and creative control that BERNINA offers. Just bring a pen and paper to take notes and be ready to be inspired by this virtual lecture/demonstration. Make It Snappy!

You can stitch up a great little carryall in a snap – and just in time to get organized for the new year! The carry all features four "Snap Happy" pockets to organize your sewing supplies. Or you could use it for travel item or even your electronic gadgets. We will also create a wallet that is just right for holding your camera or cell phone. In this class we will learn techniques for embroidering over pet screening to create see-through pockets. We will also review embroidery techniques on netting or tulle.

Don’t Sweat It

Need a little something to keep you warm? Join us as we create a fun jacket that will do just that. We will discuss sweatshirts and fleece and how to embroider successfully on these fabrics. We will also talk about stabilizers and products that will make your garment or project look great.

Simple Home: The Baby Room – and More

In this class we will focus on an adorable ruffled pillow and wall hanging that will be perfect for anyone – not just the new baby. We will discuss gathering techniques as well as discuss how to choose the proper stabilizer for your designs.

Holding It Together: Quilting with an Embroidery Machine

Quilting has never been easier – we will discuss how to quilt the layers of a quilt together that will make quilting fun AND easy, AND super fast! We will review the basics of quilting in the hoop and create projects using our test samples. We will examine some different threads and needles to use when you use your embroidery machine to quilt your projects.

May 3: 6:00 p.m. / May 4: 10:00 a.m.

From Head to Toe

We will embroider head to toe as we discuss techniques for embroidering caps and slippers. We will talk about products that will work well for stabilizing caps to keep them from shifting as you embroider them. We will also make boutique slippers that are sure to please everyone. We will focus placement and on how to get a design exactly where you want it to be.

Under Wraps

Showcase your sewing hobby by creating a cover for a notebook that will be the envy of everyone in your sewing or quilting class. We will make a cover for a notebook (or an e-reader) that features some unique flap closures and some special embroidery techniques to personalize your project.

If You Can’t Stand the Heat … Make a Potholder!

Potholders are functional, but they can also be fun and decorative! We will take a look at several potholders that would be great for gifts or to spruce up your kitchen. We will discuss embroidering on hand-made chenille, and adding embroidery to an already stitched quilt block.

A Little or a Lot

What’s in your bag? This class will feature a bag with lots of pockets if you carry a lot, and a bag that carries the essentials. As we embroider the projects we will discuss whether it is better to embroider before or after the pattern piece is cut out. We will see how easy it is to get the perfect binding with the BERNINA Bias Binder. Page

Create the ultimate gift – the card, the gift, and the bag! We will show you unique gifts made in the hoop and show you how to embroider on paper to create a one of a kind card to go with it as we talk about the basics of embroidering on paper. We will also make some quick and easy gift bags so you will be ready for the holidays – and beyond.

Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend

We will make our own diamonds as we create a fun table runner that features unique cutting technique to create the diamonds. Use fancy fabrics for an elegant touch, or whimsical fabrics to liven your holiday table settings. We will learn to embroider over seams.
