Students will learn how to merge wool applique, beadwork and embroidery and how the components of even a single bead can be endlessly rearranged and incorporated into more complex pieces. Students will also receive tips and techniques for successful use of threads, beads, wool and other key components to create truly unique and personal designs.
The cost of this 4 hour class is $60 and $28 for the kit. Bring to class your basic sewing supplies and a bag lunch. If you like you may bring some of your favorite embellishments such as beads, buttons and tiny trims to play with.
Your kit will include instructions, felted wool balls, all the size needles you need for this project, hand dyed wool pieces, pre-cut circles, printed freezer paper and embellishments to enhance your stitchery. I will provide all the thread needed during class. If you enjoy the thread, and I am confident you will, it is available for purchase.
The prerequisites for this intermediate level class require that you have some experience with these basic embroidery stitches: Blanket stitch, Fly stitch, Chain stitch and Back stitch. Knowledge of these stitches are a great foundation for this project and will help you to have a fun and productive time in class.
This class is limited to 10-12 students.
I am excited to share this fun and exciting new project with you.
Many thanks, Sue Wojciechowski

This year's wool club will be led by Karen Hendrickson, who has been a member of the group since its inception, and a teacher for several years. She has been an avid quilter and hand stitcher for over 35 years, with sewing and embroidery experience going back to her childhood, and loves to share ideas and inspiration with others.
Wool club members may choose one of two year-long projects to work on, with assistance tips for success, inspiration and encouragement from the teacher and other participants. All group members will receive a store discount, a first look at new releases and products, and other surprises during the year.
My Enchanted Garden (top photo) by Gretchen Gibbons is one of the projects members may choose to work on in 2017. A traditional block-of-the-month project, there are 9 wood appliquéd blocks plus a pieced and appliquéd border. This quilt offers lots of opportunity for members to flex their embroidery creativity as they personalize their embellishment of the blocks in this quilt. Lots of teaching and help in perfecting and learning new stitches will be available. A pattern book and optional monthly wool kits are offered.
'Round the Garden (bottom photo) by Wendy Williams is the second project being done by wool club members this year. Less traditional, this project provides lots of opportunities for members to personalize the buildings and landmarks in the quilt to their own community or perhaps to one they fondly remember from their childhood. The pattern calls for this quilt to be worked as a 56" square whole cloth quilt, but some members may wish to break it down into smaller increments. A working group will offer ideas. This quilt is not for beginners.
It's fun to share your sewing interests with others! This club is for owners of Bernina sewing machines, embroidery machines and sergers purchased from Bigsby's who want to share their sewing fun. Meetings Feature:
